Due to Covid 19, travel and adventure is something we can imagine but cannot carry out at the moment. For years I traveled the world as an independent photographer to make special travel and interior reportages. These stories appeared regularly in international magazines such as Conde Nast Traveler, Holland Herald, Elle Decor and the books we made.
Over the years I have built up an extensive archive and now these images can help us dream about distant countries and cultures.
Therefore this was "the moment" to bring the world a little closer and why I decided to frame a selection of my pictures. So that you can travel a bit from your living room.
To give the photos extra depth, I started making the frames myself and provided them with special colors. This gives these photos an extra dimension and also a personal touch.
I paint the frames in a color that can be found in the picture. The photo itself is beautifully printed on Hahnemuhle FineArt paper so all that rest is to imagine you are there . Via a website you can view a selection of images and applications and order a colored wooden frame with a photo of your choice. With the frame you will receive a little booklet in which several photos from the same series can be found and information is provided about when and where the photo was taken.
Giving these photos a new lease of life and a new audience is, in my eyes, a great form of recycling.
